We always challenge our pupils to go that extra mile and have a fantastic record of involvement in a range of adventurous activities.
Residential Camps
Every year our pupils are involved in residential camps which give them valuable experience in the challenges of the wider world. Over recent years we have visited such places as the North Yorkshire Moors, the New Forest and the Brecon Beacons in South Wales.
Annual Challenges
Our annual ‘Appleford Challenge’ has seen our older pupils complete the famous 3 Peaks Challenge, accomplish the demanding Welsh 3000s Mountaineering Challenge, hike the gruelling 40km Sarsen Trail and cycle 160 miles from Appleford to the Houses of Parliament.
Trips Abroad
Appleford pupils have been financially supporting and volunteering at a village school in India for a number of years, learning hands-on about another culture and experiencing the lifestyle of others.
Our Year 10 pupils have regularly visited Spain for work experience and to see the sights.
Regular ski trips to Italy and Austria are a popular addition to the school calendar.
